Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Why are executives giving bonuses based on the stock price instead of based on the profit margin the show each quartis

Why would the Board of Directors reward the CEO of bonuses based solely on the stock price and not based on if the company made any profit in the previous quarter?

It’s embarrassing to be losing millions of dollars and be paying your CEO a bonus for the performance because the stock price went up.

I have no confidence in the board of directors.

You will never be able to beat airbus when you’re competing with an air frame design that is 30 years older than the A320. The narrow body competition is, what’s ki-ling them.

Because it benefits them and those who receive exec bonuses, like the B.O.D., the most. Are you NEW in the workforce ??? Is this your first job working in a fortune 500 company ???

THEY who drive the bus determine where the bus is going. The foxes are guarding the chicken coop. Very very naive question !!!!!

Make no mistake about it: Dave Calhoun is a first class Ham & Egger.

When hiring is based on anything other than merit, those that produce the merits no longer see value in doing so as they get passed up for promotion and career opportunities because they are the wrong skin color, have the wrong plumbing, or have had too many birthdays. Boeing does not hire on merit, so it is seeing those that produce merit leave the company or just sit there quietly.

There is some productivity by people who enjoy doing the work they do, but they do not provide the creative ideas Boeing needs to be competitive. Outside of producing physical products, much of what Boeing does is easily done by just about anyone. China is now producing airplanes, as is Airbus, defense is being done by many other companies, and for all their software products, they bought much of it, meaning others did it first and will do it again.

What does Boeing have left if the merits leave? A bunch of 'diversity' hires sitting around wonder who is going to do something?

Dave Calhoun was vice-chairman and Board of Directors at GE and has a lot of experience at private equity tasks (buying companies, 'rebuild' them and sell them for a profit)
Now GE is no more (or you can say, spin-offs and sold in pieces)

Boeing will soon be spin-offs just like GE
Boeing directors and executives are hired to manage and 'clean-up' Boeing, and therefore are rewarded for that
Boeing does not care about its workers or the excellent engineering culture, actually those are burden
At least Muilenburg is an engineer, Calhoun is a businessman
That is why you won't hear about engineering plans; it is all about production output plans now

No shortage of missed opportunities and sc--w-ups at Boeing. SpaceX is now valued higher than Boeing. Need the brightest and best, then get them experienced and knowledgeable, and create an environment that motivates them to stay and perform at high level. That ain't Boeing no more. No one enjoys working for people who they can't respect on any level...ethics, capability, etc.

If you worked at Boeing for a long time and are just counting the days before you can escape, you know this place is a goner. Long gone are the days we had good engineers and managers. Being here now is like watching the movie d-mb and d-mber.

737 is 60 year old design...not 30 years... Been working on the 777X upgrade for 10 years now. 787 was financial failure because of many years of endless delays. So if you think Boeing can develop and field a 737 replacement to compete with Airbus or even COMAC so as to make any profit, you are sadly mistaken. Like the other person said...and rightly so...only a stock manipulation game.

Because Wallstreet, Boeing Board of Directors and Boeing Executives are corrupt and greedy and play a stock manipulation game to increase their wealth at the expense of everything else including quality, safety and national security. Word to the ethical and wise...don't get caught working at Boeing or owning their stock when the Boeing house of cards finally collapses.
