Recent reorgs around a certain product have set NetApp up to lose what little foothold and stake it had in tangible cloud offerings. The leadership of this org has continued to churn and make poor decisions that result in highly experienced engineers leaving. A certain new director seems to have everything a director has in title. Pay, prestige, authority. All while lacking a fairly crucial component: direction.
Optimism and working your very best won't help once NetApp leadership deems you unnecessary. My suggestion is to be realistic about your situation. If you think this organization and product will succeed, you are just wrong. Anyone with eyes to see can read the writing on the wall. This organization will most definitely see layoffs anywhere in the next 6-9 months and I'm certain this train will derail.
For those of you who have the wisdom to know what's coming, what's your plan?
