The board of mis directors voted for and approved the stock buy backs in order to prop up the share price so they could sell for a tidy profit.

Never seemed to bother anyone when BB&B was paying an average $26 per share buyback and the stock price was ~$6. One of many reasons why this company should be bankrupt. Another is the hiring of outsiders to review processes and make improvements while saving the company money. But they forgot the people that created the disaster were still in charge and would not allow change for fear of making them look bad for creating the sh**storm.

I feel bad for those who lost their jobs, but if there ever was a company that deserved such downward spiral, this is the company. Based on my short time, it starts and ends with everyone a HQ. People entrusted others based on the number of years with the company, rather than the validity of their statements. No one ever questioned anything, just like the blind man speaking to the deaf dog. No one questioned because they feared hurting someone's feelings. Most of the time when you want everyone to believe you in the corporate world, say it loud and with force, most will never question. HQ was a bunch of sheep following but never questioning and ending with the demise of a once iconic brand.

Oh my, the spootie-wonkles have gotten into the computer! Ye, I said the spootie-wonkles! There's s*** that scans discounts in the phones, but not in the register. Clearly the spooti-wonkles don't care about a two week deadline! They will work their evil mischief upon us until the very end! Oh Dear Lord, why don't they let us be?!

Our store was also told July 30 is last day open to public. July 31st is the day for packing up records and cleaning up and it must be finished by end of that day. I have talked to someone at corporate and they are done July 28th but did say a very small staff would be working for a few weeks longer in order to wrap up the operation. I guess since we are technically no longer in existence after the end of July all the corporate records need to be packed up and put into some type of storage.
Also I read that two US Senators are pushing corporate for information on our severance plan and info on why all the stock buybacks the last few years where instead of making the stockholders more richer the money could have been used to improve the company. I guess BB&B will be in the news for a bit longer.

The store in Mesquite was the first in Dalles-Fort Worth to close post chapter 11. However, it looks like the rest may well go the two weeks.
