been working at Macy's for 5 years....Hired for merchandising, my availability was open 4 days a week part-time..was happy merchandising, pricing, signing , even working the truck and fulfilling online orders. oh I forgot training new employees..Now they want me to cover the register and drop my workload if a cashier doesn't show up?? I swiftly changed my availability to early morning hours only leaving at 12pm not available on Saturdays..yes I've been working every Sunday and I leave at noon. No way in he-l they would get me stuck behind that register.. hire more cashiers! ..Periodt! by the way I still get hours, usually during the week they need me to stay for some back up in operations like fulfillment, processing merchandise in Backstage or markdowns that need to be completed. Never to cover for a cashier that has called out..not what I was hired to do.

I end up in 2 or 3 areas in one day all the time. Certain people don't ever have to leave their departments ever while a few if us have to do markdowns cover other people's lunches or breaks and close registers in other areas. Im tired of being shuffled around like cattle.
LOL! Only since coming back after reopening after Covid shutdown!
Not a fan of “There’s no me in team”, it’s getting old. Opening the store, working truck, fulfillment, AYS, markdowns, etc., etc.. Sometimes I’m actually able to do the job I was hired for! Imagine THAT!
Macy's continues to follow the Sears business plan.
Or is that just me?
