WARN act out, 400 in SD, not bad at all

Looks a lot smaller than the hype.

Volunteers also counted in layoffs and have same dates in WARN. Also removed from PH on same day as others. The PH delta is on line with WARN.

The number is small because it does NOT include the volunteers.

The point that the number affected (especially involuntary) is too small compared to the hype and noise in this forum. Compare that to the Amazon's, googles and metas where there 1000s were laid off and hardly any noise on layoff.com. Also, those impacted in Q were treated with respect and given time to remain office. I guess layoffs and discussions are part of Q culture. Rumors on this site will start long before next fiscal year when things can actually happen if smartphone economy does not recover.

Need to cut alot more to bring opex down and stock price up. Need to cut at least 2,000 in California to get the stock price up. Time to cut loose the lickers and posers.

Not bad? Really? 420 for this quarter in SD. Layoffs started in Dec 2020 and I was part of that cut so I know. So it's way more than 420 if we calculate combined.

Mass layoffs can lead to a drop in a company's stock price if it turns the investor sentiment negative.

You fool! Layoffs started in Dec & they are going to be implemented gradually so people like you say, “not too bad.” Wait till more cuts are made and jobs are moved to India. What will be your response then? Not too bad?

Layoffs are being implemented gradually to avoid causing alarm, and there will be additional layoffs in the future.

84x5=420. A coincidence?

Funny thing about this layoffs is. All previous layoffs were filed under Qualcomm. This layoffs was filed under Qualcomm Incorporated. So if someone was searching the database under Qualcomm it wouldn’t come up. Don’t know what this means but definitely weird

Per WARN, Santa Clara 84, San Diego 420 to be exact. Notice date 5/17, Received date, 6/14 and Effective date 7/18. So this notice is for the May layoff, not for the next one.

Yep, and this includes the volunteers as well. It sucks to be involuntarily laid off, but the number affected is too small in comparison to the hype on this website. One guy even created a tweet to publicize layoff.com activity!
In a lot of teams, 'the Wednesday' was a regular day with regular meetings and no inkling that a small number was laid off.
