Updates on Overtime

At the risk of attracting some trollish and cynical remarks, is there anyone out there who can speak to the outlook on when, if ever, there will be any flexibility for overtime?

I've been getting some extra hrs lately because of constant call offs. But I don't expect it to get any better anytime soon. We have call offs during the summer all the time especially weekends . Thanks to all the youngsters who don't want to work weekends you are keeping me out of the poor house!!

Just take the overtime to complete your job. You will be paid for it and unlikely it will ever be brought up to you.

It’s really store specific. It is entirely dependent on the hours utilization of that specific store and whether or not it can fit into their budget.

Just this week, the whole shoe department called out. So much for no call outs.

I'm with you on the cycles, but in my 10 years with this company, I've never seen a freeze last this long. On the other hand, you never hear about call-offs being a problem anymore!

It seems like occasionally Cosmetics associates can get overtime but that's it. They lowered job targets yet again in my store so it doesn't look like things will get better, because job overages equal worse hours for everyone. But don't forget that this company makes no sense, so if hours compliance drops really low, they might be begging people to work. I've seen this cycle many a time.

If we’re lucky it’s looking like Q4 is the most realistic time.

I appreciate the honesty. While I know business has been tough in many markets, surely the company forecasted a post-pandemic slowdown after years of stimulus payments. I remain convinced that much of this tightening has more to do with attrition than anything.

We are getting swamped yet they will not budge, even with increased business. With F&F and father's day coming up.
