Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Leaders

I worked for Macys since 2013 and i have to point out the elephant in the room.
if you work in "management" or a "Leader role" store manager especially you are not a leader at all and liking memes all day long on LinkedIn doesn't make you a leader.
if you truly a leader your store wouldn't be a disaster and things would get done. sale managers are basically useless sacks of potatoes . in fact you can get the same results with a sack of potatoes laying up next to a register as these "Managers" Leaders do not let the ship sink.. and its sinking fast..

Macy’s has no vision that is why they are in the position that they are in.
They have not had intelligent leadership since 2017.
Tony Spring sure has his work cut for him. I hope it is not too late to right the Macy’s ship.

It used to be you could come to this forum and read intelligent, relevant posts. It is apparent the people employed by Macy's now, can not spell. Their vocabulary is that of a 3rd grader and their view of life working in retail is delusional. Retail is ever changing. It has to be to succeed. Companies are always implementing new strategies. Some succeed, some are failures. If you feel the ship is sinking, leave, move on. Macy's needs employees that are able to navigate an environment that calls on you to support their vision.

We all know these leaders, so called captains and managers just pretend to work.. they are called fluff managers. The only time you see them on the floor is during a visit .. and it's a free for all for the employees and as you can see the shoplifters..who definitely know Loss Prevention is more like LOST prevention.. : /

Macys stopped training people and developing its own employees in an effort to save money. You see that now with the store and headquarters leadership. Blind leading the blind. If you are at all disagreeable, you get pushed out at Macys.

Retail no longer attracts much talent. I also suspect the culture at Macys has groomed and promoted the bogus leaders they now accept to run stores and regions. As my 4 decade career in retail comes to an end , it’s sad to see how low the bar is now.
