An entire team was laid off in SG on Mid June at Sunnyvale office.

Another bit of info from my colleagues who were unaffected:
- In one team where a recently hired engineer quit for unrelated reasons, this allowed them to evade involuntary layoffs of other people.
- Budget for events is being reduced.
My conclusion is that indeed they want to save money in SG, rather than use it merely as a pretext to lay off whomever they label as "slackers".
At least, probably others too: Portugal, Armenia, Poland. I know of Solutions Group. Apparently they take place in small batches each month. Target is 2-3% based on worst performance reviews of last 2 years.
What location?
It happens to the sitting ducks who are comfortable collecting RSUs and a pat on their back until the time comes they’re not needed. It’s great people are seeing what’s happening and leaving on their own.
Few people I know were let go, one of them have been there over 20 years, hopefully he got a golden handshake and a good package, most importantly he has the skills to land a new job.
