With buy buy baby being purchased, will some people be kept on?

@7mbs+1n6CLbQ7 Crazy how some people that have remained here truly think even if the business is purchased they will remain employed. That ship has sailed almost a year ago, that's how long the writing has been on the wall.
Haven’t heard of another bidder. Might find out more tomorrow, but these stores are done. Good luck with no money meme mo--ns!!
You wouldn't be kept on. At best you would be allowed to apply for a job as a new employee at new employee wages and probably part time employment.
The only thing that has been bought is the proverbial farm.

Go Global Retail, the private equity owner of Janie and Jack, is looking to possibly acquire Buy Buy Baby from Bed Bath & Beyond. If finalized, the deal would keep at least some of Buy Baby’s stores open.
What difference does it make?
Overstock is only interested in the intellectual property, not the brick and mortar stores.
Neither BBB or Baby has been acquired yet. Overstock bid on BBB and if that deal ends up going through all they get is the merch, branding, and when someone searches bed bath and beyond they get re-directed to overstock. All stores will be closed.
Baby only has interest, one is Jack and Janie who may keep some stores open, the other is Babylist who only has an online presence and will close all stores. Bablist's offer is similar to Overstock. In essence the name may live on but all locations and associates will not.
Well no one has officially bought it yet .
"...plan to keep stores" They don't own those stores, in fact if you take a look at the BK filings you will see the long list of landlords listed as creditors fighting for any leftover crumbs like that $21.5 million.
Overstock didn’t buy buy buy baby jack and Janie did and they plan to keep stores or so I’ve heard

Don't count on it. They may not want to take on your pay and tenure.
