Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

GET RID OF ISM ALREADY ITS NOT WORKING!!!!!

Can we please have our merch teams back. Maybe get a reliable sales team back in designated areas so they will take pride in there work like they once did.

The integration of selling and support coupled with the continued streamlining and downsizing of support at the divisional level has left stores with just enough resources to keep their heads barely above water. The problem with this is that when something goes wrong, like a key team member goes out on LOA, a store receives several large shipments in a week or has big projects and other workload, the system begins to break down and there isn't anybody available to come help a team to get back to standard.

Before ISM we didn't need to designate stores that have broken down operationally as "opportunity stores". When managers in these stores call their regional teams for help, they are sent emails telling them to follow company policy, along with a less than helpful PDF or Power Point. Here in the Northwest, nobody wants to run one of these stores as almost everyone who takes one on has their career end in 12 to 18 months.

In the past, we would pull resources to help recover them stores so we could maintain margins and brand standards. In today's world, merchandise goes weeks and sometimes months sitting unprocessed and people lose focus and stop taking initiative. When senior leaders only want to hear good news and when the best help you can hope for is an email with a PDF, store engagement suffers and productivity drops like a rock.

Macy's is full of "Quiet Quitters" since ISM or should I say after Covid. People are not taking pride in their work because next day they are working somewhere else and if the leaders dgaf why should the "Generalists" ??? Pardon my French.

ISM was a HORRIBLE IDEA from the start. It just doesn't work. Our store is a mess and no one cares .

That’s why and a lot of other former associates only shop online.
Macys should be ashamed of what they have done to the stores.
If you can’t support them them close them all !!

Sorry it’s only cashiers now. Customers like to shop a mess. When’s the last time you asked a Target or a Walmart worker for in depth product knowledge for recommendations?

Yes!
Please!
Our store is a sh-t show!
Nothing gets done and no one cares cause they won't be in that area tomorrow so it's not their problem.
Fitting room is out of control!
ISM is ki-ling Macy's!
How can you help a customer if you don't even know the merchandise cause you're only in there once a week.
Generalists barely know who their people leader is cause they never work near them, so they are never held accountable.
No wonder business sucks!
Try cutting the fat up top and put that money back into your stores staff!
