Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

An advice for current and future layoffs

Similar to you all I have been stressing out for layoffs when they announce. But too much stress caused a health issue for me and I learned staying healthy, plus taking care of yourself is more important.
Always put your health top priority.
To help during layoff times, have your resume updated and update your skill set.
Sometimes things are out of control and we should not get sad for it

On a layoff board, a well-meaning person posted some advice regarding layoffs - but you had to show your cynicism. You may want to lighten up a bit.

Great, keyboard warriors giving more generic advice read directly from a fortune cookie.

Do you think you get paid because you are cute? You are paid because of you knowelledge/dedication/challenge.

Don't take a job that you cannot handle

Most of the Intel employees hired in the past 3 yrs are overpaid... I believe they are mostly stressed out and afraid of the restraint of the job market.

Why stress?
If you have properly planned and have a emergency account ready to go, it should amount to a short vacation

Well stated, stay healthy as much as you can and strive to learn more and improve yourself, other opportunities will show up. Have confidence in yourself.

Why blame Intel? You can absolutely blame Intel, you dedicated much time and hard work to an ELT who lied and cheated you of time and compensation.

Milk that cow as long as you can. Loyalty from corporations is one way.
Take care of yourself and milk intel for all you can get.

Why blame intel for your inability to handle stress?

Grow a pair and don't get stressed easily, layoffs ate the only constant in tech.

I doubt all those loyal decades serving Intel will pay off.

@erf+1n22sIJN. This has to be the most rubbish comment I've seen in this board.

I agree with OP. We tend to underestimate ourselves and doubt our abilities due to some negative experiences. Willingness to learn new stuff and striving to complete the tasks is enough to be successful in a new role. Flexibility is the key in this day and age. A different line of work within the engineering field or outside of it can be learned at any age. Good luck and thank you for reading.

Spend your entire paycheck on Intel products every month to reduce the risk of layoff.
