There are global ads; Optum is completing a massive hiring initiative in the Philippines for clinical abstractors—start date of June 30th. The US abstraction teams can expect to start being let go as soon as the Philippines completes training.
Grade 24, my team 30 people were just told last day will be August.

But that's not what we are seeing. All contractors have been laid off, or are out by the end of June. These were positions that would have converted to 28 and below.
They have been replaced with WiPro contractors literally residing in India.
I have yet to see one 29+ employee in my department be laid off. Plenty have left on their own, but with 11 weeks of severance minimum, the company isn't doing it.
IT will be impacted at grades 29 and above. They will leave holes as they are not looking at people or processes, only dollars. All of the VP roles that have been created in CA will survive for sure but the working leaders will go. More money to buy managed care lives.
Know one person in M&R Sales who was laid off.
