Thread regarding CDK Global Inc. layoffs

Why do you allow that?

Lots of people complain about being overloaded. I am genuinely interested, why do you allow yourself to be put in that position? Of course they will overwhelm you with work when they see that you are putting your head in the sand. Why is it so hard for some to set boundaries and say no?

Mean hard to say no when they just turn your phone on to calls you've never been trained on and just told to figure it out.

You act as if it’s a choice!
It’s not rather you “commit” or not
You are scope creeped out and if not thrown under the buss

There are still some people who are holding out, hoping that it all gets better. @euw+1n1WbwNZ said it best, that most of these guys are over 45, have been with CDK for decades, and have let their skills wither to just what they do each day. Nobody in the industry is going to hire PICK or PHP programmers, are they?

Also a majority of these old-timers are so close to retirement they can smell it from here. Why bother looking for another job when you can try to hold out just one or two more years, then you can tell BM to go f$#@k himself as you strut out the door?

Right now cooperate is on a rampage with cost cutting, layoffs etc... alot of people have been with BD 15, 20, 30 years or more and at the age where age is an issue when it comes to starting over. And in some places there aren't any jobs to compete with BD wages at this point. And cooperate is keeping everything so hush hush no one at the level below cooperate executives aren't saying or what they do tell is a lie. There is no more code of conduct that is "We do what's right " when they're backstabbing going on.
