Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

The FRED factor at Sabre

Remember when Sabre wanted you to read “The Fred Factor” ? It was about Fred the mailman and his boring job. They made you feel like Sabre was king of the world. Funny thing is , Fred had a postal job with better benefits than Sabre, was protected by the postal union, and now has a great retirement thanks to his union. Seems like Fred had the upper hand. Now the average Sabre employee is on the street because they had no union protection, while Fred is sipping on mai tai’s in St. Maarten. Don’t drink the corporate kool aid

Union may not save your job, but at least you’ll have recall rights. When Sabre jays off, you are history. With a union, you come back when the business need arises. You also have protections that non union members don’t.

Don't think just because there is a Inion your job will be saved at least in the USA.

People don’t realize you can be a professional office worker and still have a union contract.

the reason they have employee representatives is to prevent them of having unions. the joke is these representatives are managers and with the side of Sabre instead of the employees.
