Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Role of HR in Toxic environment - Advocate, Foe or Watching on the sidelines?

I filed an HR case regarding my manager, ensuring that my complaint was properly documented. This demonstrated my proactive approach in addressing work-related concerns internally, as advised by my lawyer. Having this documentation would be beneficial for future reference, especially if the need for legal action arises. Now, imagine if everyone who was deeply affected by the toxic situation followed suit, inundating HR with cases that require attention and providing necessary documentation in the event of potential legal proceedings.

HR is supposed to be our first line of defence against what is happening. We should lean on them more.

Make them work.

Glad leadership sees what is going on. This company is very toxic, but HR doesn't know toxic is. Lol

They will lie, probably not investigate but claim they did and they will say they did.

I experienced that exact situation where, upon approaching HR, my manager took offense and consequently, I was pushed to the forefront for layoff. As a result, I received a severance package 🤪

Are you joking? This is how it works: Compliant file with HR contractor, contractor forwards to Complany HR lackey, who thens goes to your manager and SR leadership and then devise ways to get you fired.

HR or People Team are not our advocates. They deliver what leadership shovels down. Legal or not legal. I’m in leadership and am pushing back. I will probably be laid off but I cannot just shut up.

HR is not your advocate. They are the COMPANYS advocate. Remember who they work for
