Thinking I can potentially get laid off is giving me a lot of anxiety. Every damn day I thinking about when I’ll be next. I have a family and kids. Can’t afford to be laid off. I’ve been applying around but the job market is so dry!

Don't let it take control of you. If you're on the chopping block there isn't anything you can do to prevent it. The only thing you can do is be prepared. I've been with the company for 25 years and have been through multiple layoffs. This is always the worst part of it.

Then why are you here? I abhor ppl that post on sites like this telling others to not read the comments posted here. Then explain why the heck are YOU reading/posting here. And your comment was SO NOT encouraging. Maybe you are one of ms pingle tingle’s minions and instructed to monitor and “p-o p-o” comments/questions that paint HR or the C suite rich in a negative light. Be gone you’re not needed here!
Dunno, I've found reading this site.helpful. layoffs have not come out of the blue so I've been mentally prepared.
