Thread regarding Coupa Software layoffs

Product and Engineering update

They failed to give a clear picture on the layoffs, neither did they give details of the future roadmap. All they said they cut staff to balance growth and profitability which doesn’t make sense. There were no real changes to the leadership, poor developers and QE took the most hit on the engineering side. ‘Customer success’ goes out of the window.

some of the engineering leaders visited India in the past few weeks to ramp up the teams there. They are going to back-fill the roles that were made redundant in US and Europe last month. They basically lied to the employees when they said these roles were not required! Never trust the leadership.

Manager and Director roles are glorified Team Lead roles, For a small Engineering workforce you don't so many levels. They might be better off replacing them with more devs.

We have way too many QE managers. We don’t need them. QE can report to dev managers and directors, and we can get rid of QE management completely. They bring near ZERO value

Leadership cuts were made in support and some higher level leaders were announced within certain departments but haven’t left yet.
