Just heard that 7 contractors from 2 separate agency's are getting laid off. Their last day is June 16th. This is at the Corvallis site.
Anyone know of more?
At different sites?
Same last day?

Yep! 33 CW that are part of NA Marketing
“It would be helpful to the rest of us to know the site, business group, and the time period.”
This happened last year in Spring, TX. I don’t really pay attention to business groups. All of the best contractors left due to the furloughs. I really liked my job at HP but I was underpaid and the furloughs really hurt me financially. Recruiters were constantly bombarding me with job opportunities and I finally found a great position with plenty of work. It’s too bad that HPE and HP throw away their older workers but there are other companies that crave your knowledge and are willing to pay big money for it.
Yep, CWs will be getting dumped to the curb en masse. But FTEs will be getting dumped too this year. It’s all expected, and this should come as no surprise to anyone who doesn’t have their heads in the sand.
"All of the best contractors left the HP group that I was part of and were not replaced. I left two weeks before layoffs were announced and I’m pretty sure that nobody was hired to replace me. Leaving was the best decision that I ever made."

I just received notice of being furloughed for two weeks. Better than being laid off I guess….
I'm on a team with mostly CWs. I'm not a CW. I heard furloughs are going to be happening in July. It's like the 4th or 5th furlough year to date.
"if HPE still has 60000 managers then we know where the problem lies"
HELLO!! This is the HPQ layoff section, NOT HPE.
Two different companies now and has been for years.
if HPE still has 60000 managers then we know where the problem lies
I thinks this is where HP is headed for the sale of Boise and San Diego campuses.
"An AT&T mandate calling 60,000 managers to work in-office three days a week is seen by at least one of them as "a layoff wolf in return-to-office sheep’s clothing," according to Bloomberg. The ask coincides with a nationwide effort to consolidate the phone giant's 350 offices into just nine — meaning thousands of managers must consider either relocating or resigning. CEO John Stankey has said he expects 9,000 employees to face that choice, but AT&T insiders put the number closer to 25,000, with a majority of affected staffers ineligible for relocation stipends."
rumor has it that the entire company is on Double SECRET PROBATION
"You get paid for 60 days but they will often have your past day before that. I know this because almost 3 years ago it happened to me. I got a wfr mid September with my last day end of September. I got paid until November. I did immediately find another job and avoided the issue."
It seems that state laws play a role here as well. In Texas it has been same day to two weeks in most companies where I have worked.
Layoffs in Boise as well, including contractors in critical roles.
“am with HP SD for 20+ years now. Instant dismissal for FTE in my memory was for cause only. Regular WFR impacted staff are given 60 days notice.”

"I claim nothing: just repeat back to you verbatim the inconsistent cr-p posted here: "was shocked when he was let go since he was a top performer. "
You are really confused, and clearly have reading comprehension issues. You read one post and mix it with another to draw the wrong conclusions.
Learn to read (and understand) before you reply. At least have something to contribute above and beyond your drivel.
"Some" employees were put on PIP, and "some" employees were let go in the design studio. At no time were the two cases mixed together, especially with a "top performer" as you erroneously claim.

"PIP and bogus reasons? The person allegedly let go was a "top performer"!"
You seem to have reading comprehension issues. I have seen you frequently make very uneducated comments and guesses on this site, and your poor grammar and jump-to -conclusions style proves proves it is you.
To spell it out for you slowly so that you can understand (hopefully):

Can confirm some FTEs in the design field in San Diego were let go with a two-week notice from HP.
Can also confirm some were put on a PIP based on bogus reasons, and let go after 4 weeks. This included reasons like the employee insulted someone, but it was never proven by fact.
"In my time I have seen people let go on the same day and many in two weeks. Your post truly reeks of ignorance."

"This can't be FTEs: FTEs are given 60 days notice. Try harder. "
You are clearly an HR shill. I actually worked with this guy and some of his colleagues for 1 1/2 years. I was shocked when he was let go since he was a top performer.
In my time I have seen people let go on the same day and many in two weeks. Your post truly reeks of ignorance.
I only know of FTEs in San Diego.
"Two weeks ago today I got the bad news that my position along with many others would be cut. Now today, being my official last day at HP. "

Found out on Friday that 3 out of the 4 CW's in my team are being let go. This is also in Corvallis. Not sure what day they are leaving.
HP also recently removed several agencies from their list of suppliers. All of the agencies underwent an audit to weed them out.
Stay at HP at your own risk. Not worth it.
