Thread regarding Microsoft Corp. layoffs

No merit increases?

Outsider here (though at another big tech). When do you guys usually get your annual raises? How large did you expect the raises to be? What about promo cases?

There are exceptions. You guys needs to navigate the waters a little better for a compensation increase. A bunch of sheep being lead blindly. Very sad.

The 200 billion figure is without merit. Microsoft has 80 billion in long-term DEBT. The media barely mentions this, but it is public info.

200 billion and you put up with this during high inflation. Wow.

anything to distract from mass layoffs across the company this week (the media missed or lost sight of most of them)

We received an email from Satya about the rewards. FTEs will not receive a salary increase this year, it is only stocks and one time bonus.
They will keep the budget for promotions though, I guess it’s a win.

Around September.
At minimum at inflation level.
Promotions are still on, but no information on how much salary increase.
Hope it helps.

I was surprised by the colleagues that have already been laid off, I'm okay with not getting an increase this year if it means we don't lose more good people. Also, the reality is that I could be the one getting laid off, so I'll eat the 3% increase this year to limit the layoffs.

So no one can answer the three questions?

'No merit' increase for one year should be the least of msft's employees worries. It beats being laid off.

PR wizardry? Nadella is trying to change the subject?

Focus not on many MSFT layoffs worldwide. Focus instead on people's salary staying unchanged.
