Thread regarding 3M layoffs

3M

Mike and his minions, the board, you’re an embarrassment to the employees of this once amazing 3M family. It was brilliantly woven with strong values and work ethic and all grounded in every employee feeling personal responsibility for the success of mother mining. You have ruined all of it and the sad part is that you think you’re some kind of problem solving genious. The kings have no clothes.

I am still hanging around with 3M because I like the work your way initiative. Working from home allows me to take care of my family, as well as get sufficient rest and nap time during workdays. This cannot be compensated with salary outside.

Sorry to see this mess unfolding. My only experience with 3M was with a campus engineering recruiter who was egotistical, arrogant and just a general jacka-ss. It turned me off to what I assumed that the culture must have been like - even to this day many years later. Sorry for all those getting bruised and yanked around, better days are ahead, maybe not with 3M, but there are better days ahead!

Do u feel better now that u vented? Hr looks at site but doesn’t have the courage to tell execs. So don’t have high hopes.
The board is fully aware of some parts of the shitshow. So they are going along with it.

The best and hardest work is done in the spirit of adventure and challenge. Mistakes will be made. But if a person is essentially right, the mistakes he or she makes are not as serious in the long run as the mistakes management will make if it undertakes to tell those in authority exactly how they must do their jobs.” – William L. McKnight, former 3M Chairman
