The last round of layoffs happened a little less than a month ago, and not too many people were affected. Now I'm hearing rumors about another round, only this time it's supposed to be more substantial. Can anybody who knows what's going on and what's being planned let us know if this is true or not, please?

Layoffs just happened June 1 and June 2. Over 500 people in Raytheon Intelligence and Space. This happened after the sector president lied on an all-hands call with emoloyees the week before. It's not a safe company to work for anymore.

What department are you in?
RTN Layoffs and reorganization by July 1 due to RTN business unit mergers from 2 to 1. New Raytheon Technologies business units will be Raytheon (defense), Collins Aerospace aad Pratt Whitney.
175 in El Segundo does not seem like alot? What department are you in and are all areas affected?
Horrific rep in Canada with the closure of two major sites in recent years (former Hughes ATC plant in Vancouver and the failed Waterloo radar plant) plus loss of North Warning System contract; unstable, in decline and best avoided.
El Segundo site is laying off 175 on June 9. I'm one of them.
Disney and other company cuts were all over the news. Did not hear anything about Raytheon so it must not have been very significant. Probably forced out older workers that are passed retirement and make too much. If there is a next round and it is big it will be on the news.
