I was told by my agency that HP is currently removing some of the smaller contract agencies from its roster. I was wondering if my agency is making this up. Anyone have more info on this?

For those CW’s, who are receiving raises, they’re not giving you that money out of the goodness of their hearts. Many CW’s have been leaving due to low pay and furloughs. The best contract developers left and I was expected to take on more work while being furloughed so I left too.
I also moved from one agency to another per my manager’s request and got a $10/hr pay increase. This was during covid. I admit to being on call and working around the clock whenever I was asked. So if you’re willing to work extra hours and be a slave or lapdog then there’s somewhat of a chance you won’t get laid off. But then again so goes the saying: hard work pays off.
I was recently moved from one agency to another per HP request. I thought that I would get a pay cut, really surprised me when I got a 20K a year pay raise. I have my suspicions that my old agency was taking a larger cut of the HP pay and the new agency is taking much less.
True, Boeing and Microsoft did this a long time ago. Everything they do is mostly consolidated under Infosys, Tata, Wipro, and Cognizant.
As a result many former FTEs were laid off or became contractors.
No doubt dropping the contract agencies that pay people better and therefore charge HP more. Par for the course in the contract industry.
They are not making it up
“Suuuure, your agency is making this up. HP is just a sweetheart company and would never get rid of CWs or anyone else. HP has a corporate heart of gold.?”
LOLOLOLOLOL!!! ROFLCOPTER!!!
Suuuure, your agency is making this up. HP is just a sweetheart company and would never get rid of CWs or anyone else. HP has a corporate heart of gold. Or actually, is it a heart of steel?
Come on, why are you even asking? HP is ruthless and It’s likely that your agency is telling you like it really is.
