Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Canadian Tire pursues BB&B space.

We've already heard all about the junk stores stateside, but apparently Canadian Tire is the leading vulture in the Great White North.

Buildings are supposed to stay empty. Everyone knows that. Where have you been?

Who said buildings are supposed to stay empty? I don't see where any one said buildings are supposed to stay empty. You just made that up.

Cool story bro. Like buildings are supposed to stay empty and the owners make no rent money

Fresh from their conquest of Target a few years back. And let me tell you, neither CT nor Target had a ton of stuff in them. Their Targets were not like the ones down here in terms of product and Canada knew it. Kmarts were the same thing when I lived up there. But heck, I hear Zellers is back as a pop up store, too. Can Woolco be far behind in Walmart spots? (Markham)

Any place we can get Lick's burgers or Eaton's burgers? I know Eatons went under long ago and I hear Lick's did in many markets in Ontario. Kingston Road, Scarberia?

At any rate, I don't really see them or any other retailer "vulturing" BBBY stores. Some in this area started out as K marts or bowling alleys. BBBY "vultured" them as well. It's a rented spot, especially in the case of Bloodbath, and like any rented spot, someone else can occupy it. BBBY should never be lionized for staying in one place for 30 years. None of the other dead chains are.

Things change. Duh.
