Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

There is worse out there

Just my opinion, I think that this company was great to work for a decade ago. Within the last 7 or 8 years, they’ve had mass layoffs, removal of benefits, and other such measures that brings down morale. I came in right whenever this was all happening and I feel like this place was still a great place to work. I think a good portion of it is perception. A lot of people who have been acquired over the last several years, specifically legacy spectra (Specifically Houston), feel like they got the wrong end of the deal coming over from their legacy company to Enbridge. I think a lot of it is perspective. It was a lot better company years ago. But I can assure you there are a LOT WORSE out there.

I've been reading some of the older posts, and @yxz+1lqnf9bq said it well. It deserved a bump.

Simple fix. Terminate spectra guys. You’re taking too long to do this and it’s dragging out the the process.

Same story different day. Legacy Spectra individuals complains and tells it how it is while Enbridge individuals pretends all is perfect and spins it at fault of the individual. The cycle continues.

Same troll same post. Left company or has no other option but to post here. Racist post finds it's way into every thread. Focus on your new job or your job search. Personal experience would go against the racist comments and can personally say it would not be tolerated. Maybe reflect on what you did or are contributing to making company better vs blaming or slinging accusations to overcome your performance. Assume you got successful every year too so your people leader has a long road ahead of them to exit you and bring someone in that can do the job asked of them.

The vibe here in HTX is negative and have been negative for years. Too many racist and biased leaders prompting negativity. I started analyzing the core workforce by education and experiences and concluded that may don't have the qualifications to work in supply chain in other companies. This type complain so much but aren't able to land a job anywhere else. Second, I analyzed behavioral patterns and work habit. I noticed the ones who surfed the web frequently, take off early and backstab others are frequently promoted. They are not calm and collected to make rational unbiased conclusions. The WHITE Cliquish groups (Texas & Louisiana rd ncks) are very manipulative tend to be the problem here. People from more diverse backgrounds tend to keep a low-profile and actually work. I've seen too many careers end once 1 negative person from this group starts to gossip and point fingers. If you work long enough you will understand.

Actually Spectra wasn't the case, it was a symptom. The company got in a bad place with liquidity and nearly became insolvent, which dragged it kicking and screaming into becoming more efficient... and more heartless/transactional.

The glory days of generous Enbridge had to end sometime.

The 7 - 8 year slide seems to correspond to hooking up with Spectra.
Spectra - who in there right mind would buy a company named after a cheap Korean car!!!
