This is just self promotion. At his age he was going to retire anyway. He made millions off of this "evil," and now he's leaving. He's likely going join an "ethical" AI startup as advisor/board member and make even more money.

It's unlikely he did any work at Google. His main purpose was just to make Google look good, similar to the court system of the renaissance period.

Another purpose is to delude you on the power of AI which, again, is self promotion. We were supposed to be using flying cars by now.
