Thread regarding Amazon.com layoffs

Remote Workers concerned?

Is anyone else who is entirely virtual concerned this week with RTO starting up? I'm a little hesitant to sit comfortably, I know my whole org is virtual and maintains it at every chance that we will stay virtual. However, with a large emphasis recently in all corporate comms - are we at risk? We also just merged into a separate enveloping org too... Are we getting offshores maybe?

Ugh, the anxiety is driving me bananas.

What's there to worry about? Leave Amazon, work elsewhere. Duh. It's not like you won't be the first person to do that.

Oh no, my cushy work-from-home life is coming to an end! How stressful! Now I am just like all those other losers who have to actually leave their houses to make a living!

I see more and more reports of people working a side job given the enhancements in productivity when using Ai tools. Employers know that. Therefore I believe you can say goodbye to mass WFH.

By default, be concerned and not complacent. Assume you'll need to travel to the office as mandated; assume, if you want to stay remote, that yes, the work can be done elsewhere cheaper.

I think after the expected report by the WEF that the world will lose 14 million jobs in the years ahead due to AI, going to the office will be your least concern.

Enjoy your virtual team while it lasts. If that is what your org does, this is it.

I guess the head of your org will put an exception and turn off the badge check in/out timers for you.

Hello, I question whether the manager and even L8 have any input on the Cloudwatch logging of the badge time in/out that is likely going to take place once PIP or next lay off comes.

I am going to the office just to make sure.
