Don't believe the false narrative that jobs don't exist. That's just not true. Spend 5 minutes on any recruiting site and you'll see there are a LOT of people hiring right now. It took me all of 2 weeks to find a new job with better pay, benefits, hours, and most importantly leadership.
I hope more people realize this. The management's biggest we-pon is fear. We stay and we continue to fear layoffs because we believe there is no better alternative when there clearly is. Start looking and you'll see for yourself.
