@lgr, the juicy voluntary packages to senior people is exactly what increases the chances for a fresh out of water rookie like you to keep your job.
In my team, a lady retiring told me that she was given a full one year salary. A Sr. Director told me he was given a 1.5 year salary to retire.
WTH ? Is this how the company cuts costs and save money? How about the young people toiling in the company? I doubt they will give us any bonus at the end of the year.
Worst company every !
Does those retiring cover cost reduction target ?
Are retiring folks going to get the severance or not?
There's a difference. Retiring are those that lapped up a juicy severance package, something that wasn't even considered in faang layoffs.
Retiring? Forced out? At Qualcomm there is no difference
