What does it mean for the strategy of the new division ? Shall we expect the majority of layoffs within TSD ?

i would thought they should just name the combined division as TCD

Wasn’t dc whacked
With this merger, which set of people would be lay off? CSD or TSD or both?
Rumor was they were going to call it CBD until realizing you'd have to have something stronger to understand the synergies.
Less structure - TSSD was a top div many years ago but lost its mojo. As did CG.
weird name they give to the combined division
CBTD
its a joke.
luckily danchen took the retirement and left
Inbreeding will lead to an unhealthy child like they always do.
Weird combination, however it’s todays 3M.
A really, really weird combination...
Markets - Near zero overlap (Government and Construction firms - TSD, Retail, Restaurant, and Commercial - CSD)
Technology - Minimal overlap - Just that they both make printable things? (traffic signs vs. car wraps?) They both make some microreplicated products?
Sales model - Maybe some overlap in distributors? Using key account driven as a common idea (treating governments and fast food similarly?)
I could come up with at least a dozen better division merger pairs before landing on this one.
I can't see any similarities between them.
Worst thing is TSD just went global structure few months ago. Now they are reverting back to area structure.
I really think 3M leadership doesn't have the right vision. Keeps changing strategy.
