Thread regarding Lenovo layoffs

I’m confused- more layoffs and YY continues to champion hiring of talent???

Something doesn’t line up here? First it was the layoffs in Dec (effective Jan 30, 2023) that were kept hush hush and appeared to be targeting over 50, high wage earners ( mixed in with token younger/less paid folks to cover their tracks. 2 weeks ago, another round of layoffs hit. But Lenovo still spent $$ on SKO and has since filled those Jan positions with new hires, at lower salaries.

What gives? No wonder the remaining worker bees are growing more frustrated daily as they watch the worthless execs and useless middle management continue the “spin” about how well Lenovo is doing.

Something is very fishy.

Execs are paid to talk the company up aka LIE
Watched as a relative who was CFO talked up a publicly traded company knowing it would fail.

Trust used car salesman and televangelists before you trust your Lenovo exec.

I would say to anyone at Lenovo, the best time to look for another job is yesterday. The problem is the landscape in RTP is starting to look a lot like massive layoffs. Many of those are the ones that jumped ship for those higher salaries during the employee shortage 12-18 months ago. Start doing your daily checkbox to see where you stand:

White?
Male?
Near or over 50?
Nose normal skin color instead of stain brown from your manager?

Ching-Chong Yang is just taking a page out of the CCP's playbook. After all, he answers to them.

This is marketing windows dressing for the stakeholders as all big companies, just to show a beautiful shop. and to show how Lenovo is the best and a good entreprise !

Typical corporate BS... Never admit you're wrong, if you can find a scapegoat or throw someone under the bus, then it's fine if its "for the good of the company."

Any wins will be quickly fought over by management who weren't involved, but in the end it was the "terrific leadership" that got the company there.

Nothing but smoke and mirrors, dog and pony show. It's all about controlling perception of reality.
