Fellow folks from AWS who were laid off, where are you applying for jobs? I've been looking and the situation looks bleak. Everybody is laying off, few are hiring, and those looking for employees are hoping to find people with 20-plus years of experience for the pay of a newly minted college graduate. I'm starting to get worried.

College grads cannot make decisions like those with 20 years + experience. Those with 20 CAN'T make decisions of a minted grad, as we're conditioned to see beyond it based on experience. I am finding during my 4 month search that companies don't know what they want.
Having experience and being managed by manager's who don't know what they want, driven by companies who haven't determined a strategy, makes it a difficult work environment.

There is an article that recruiters in faang are attempting to hire folks for 50% of the salary, no benefits. It was like that too in 2008.
I found this site...https://builtin.com/companies/hiring/remote/type/cloud-companies
OP, if more are laying off than hiring, why would you not expect new grad salaries for experienced applicants? Thot developers would be smart enough not to ask this question. It's a blessing to even land a tech job in this macro environment
It is going to be tough, because most companies won't even consider you, assuming they are even filling jobs.
Indeed! The days of walking on with a $300k TCO are over. You may have to lower your unsustainable expectations, or "learn how to weld".
