Expect very lackluster quarterlys well into 2024. Calkins should sell or resign.

what a stupid company. I was part of the original "restructure" layoffs back in January. Many of us were high performers, but leadership hid and tried to blame it on performance. ha! A little surprised actually. I drank the kool-aid and thought they were different. Guess not.

@disappointed why would anyone who worked at Microsoft want to work at Appian? Probably on a massive package, will cause total chaos and then leave because they don’t “fit in”.

Where is the open forum discussion that Liz burns has about hiring younger employees?

I heard the new ex Microsoft AVP shared with her team early on that she wants to get rid of “old and lazy” sales reps and bring in some young hungry sellers.

It’s indeed unfortunate that Appian would put someone with that type of prejudice in charge of sales leadership and restructuring. Is it even legal target people by their age ?

They brought it a new AVP from Microsoft and it’s true… she has clearly stated in an open forum she is looking to get rid of the “older AEs” and hire young hungry AEs. It’s unfortunate Appian would bring someone like this into the org.

In total Appian laid off 96 people today

~30ish layoffs in sales. Rumor has it some regions had a heads up prior to Wed announcement. Rumor has it a recently hired Sales Leader discussed “needing to turn over talent and hire younger, hungrier talent” during a multi-personal call a few weeks ago. Take the rumors as they are.

Most sales layoffs received 4-6 weeks severance.

After almost 3 years of tenure, I received a severance package of just 4 weeks. I’m disappointed.

What was your severance package like and how long had you been with the company?

I was with Appian for ~7 months when I was laid off in January and I got 1.5 months pay.

just got laid off this morning. meeting with HR was placed on my calendar just 10 minutes after the layoff email came out. this came completely out of the blue, and I was disappointed with the severance package. tried to message my manager about it and was ghosted.

Wow. I was let go in January. Can't believe they are doing even more layoffs now.
