and Ba----d Baby Blue was born.....layoffs when profits are good a sign of corporate greed and malfeasance. This is the antithesis of everything RH stood for. IBM better hope RH technology can catch them up to Google AWS and MS because peoplewise (what a joke that HR is called people team) no self respecting PM should ever work for IBM or RH ever again and actually no Mgrs or Engineers either.....IBM which RH now fully is has a long history of People over Profits to EXCESS!!! Good Luck to all impacted and NEVER FORGET!!! what BIG BLUE did to YOU

A cult of ostriches in red fedoras
Red Hat sort of seemed like a cult. Am I missing something?
Haha. Welcome to the real world.
If you want something that will really make your hair stand on end, watch some of the HR Analytics videos with IBM's Diane Gherson.

@jao+1mjm785k Okay, let me tell you an interesting fact. Red Hat already SECRETLY DID layoff only in one Asian country in the middle of Mar. Although it was officially a voluntary exit package, Global HR mentioned the positions is to disappear in the near future. Which means, it was actually layoff.
As expected, however, that was just the beginning.
But why do you think it happened in the country ahead of Global? It's very clear. The management wanted to take advantage of them as a test case to see what reaction would come. Because they are generally regarded as quiet. It's nothing but RACISM, right? With that, totally agree that Red Hat facually DIED.
Really sorry for those who were Impacted this time, but no bright future even though stayed there. Hope their further success outside!
Guys yeah layoffs suck but it was 800. Name a company including the most successful that haven’t had a layoff. I will support any colleague who got a notice but it is not right to say this is the end of us.
Please tell me which American corporation is not profitable, but still doing layoffs? Google, Microsoft, Apple, Meta, Amazon?
At least Red Hat’s CEO has the ball and can make an announcement, not like IBM doing the layoffs secretly.
No, when profits are high that IS when you layoff bc it’s less overhead and subsequently, more profit. The company believes they can do more with less bodies/workers. Executives don’t get laid off because they are the ones making the money for the company. Don’t come at me I’m just the messenger.
Profits over People!!! and laughable IBM has never pup people over profits EVER!!LOL
