What about all the roles going down to the GSC in Costa Rica? I suspect those numbers are NOT included in the 6k since those jobs are being replaced...

I suspect the 10% cut are the CBLs for industrial. That won't improve it, and instead be the reverse for the OUS subsidiaries.

Listening to Monish right now, I am reminded of his verbal doppelganger, Squealer:

“Comrades!” he cried. “You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? Many of us actually dislike milk and apples. I dislike them myself. Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers. The whole management and organisation of this farm depend on us.”

Sad time for many people like myself. Growing up this was the dream job to have. Now people are running away from 3m.

Sad times for many... Thankfully I parted ways with 3M and the constant threat of redundancy a fews years ago. The writing is on the wall already, maybe time to move on.

Just watch - the 10% management cut will end up being those good ones that push back against the next layers above, not the 10% that are incompetent narcissists. I've never seen it done carefully before, doubt that it will be this time!

They will drag the layoffs on for 3 weeks. Even then, thus is just the first announced cut of more in the works.

Hope the 10% cut of senior management roles include Monish. One can only wish....

Is this going to stretch for the next 2 months of more uncertainty over whether our job is safe, or will it be done this week? Layoff communications that is

Better than Monish if they want to keep any women. Incredible that Mike would give Monish more responsibility when he has failed in everything he has done like the bankruptcy and meeting quarter plans.

Not surprised. Likely means 6,000 is just the start. They always go higher than the announced number. Sales down 9% and Management pats themselves on the back for lousy results. Incompetence should not continue to be rewarded.
