We don't have enough employees and our customer service has plummeted. People are fed up and won't take it anymore. If we keep treating them poorly, they'll take their business elsewhere. Customers deserve better and they won't hesitate to show it with their wallets. That will end up in more of us being let go, and the never-ending cycle will continue.

What's this 'we' and 'our' stuff? You're a free agent. Lowe's doesn't have you on a leash, do they?
I am also. I left a year ago after 17 years there, and I see a LOT of newer faces…. Just isn’t the same drive that lowes had a few years back

As a former employee, I left 5 years ago. I still occasionally go to Lowe’s. Many times my old store is a complete mess. I walked the entire store at 9:30 on a Sunday morning and the only employees I saw. 1st the commercial team trying to get credit card apps. Um NOPE!
Then after walking the race track, I saw 1 cashier in lumber. That was it.
I saw a shoplifter helping him self on the barbecue parts isle, a shoplifter stuffing his pockets in rough plumbing.
I went to appliances, my fridge is due for replacement. Didn’t like what I saw but took a couple pictures of model numbers so I could search the best price on google.
Yup genius business moves.
They wouldn't be able to get away with this if we had a union.
Well see what happened to Bed Bath Beyond
Marvin says we're HEROES
that's all that matters
Now shaddup and load that mulch!
If Lowes cared about its customers, they would better staff the stores. If lowes cared about its existing employees, it would better staff its stores. They obviously have done the math and are happy with what they are doing.
Sears all over again.
Well, the good news is you've gained experience managing dog fights. That's a valuable in skill some parts of the country.
