In the past, I've seen multiple layoffs, at least in my area, that were really just excuses to eliminate the roles of low performers to repurpose dollars to other areas. This time, there are really strong staff members and leaders being cut. This is a major organizational staff reduction event taking place and it some how gets no media attention.

@1hpl+1mibRJ1l “Losing money”? Optum got $30 billion from the CARES Act. What you do mean is the shareholders want more money and the the c suites will cut whatever they need in order to get that fat bonus check.

It's been all over the media about the changes CMS is making that will effect all of the income health plan's roles in. They are losing a lot of money. Cuts will be more pronounced. Chief Medical Oof said today there is a two-year hiring freeze and more changes to be made, “be ready,” but make sure you work hard until we kick you to the curb!
