A lot of BBBY employees have been through Toys R Us liquidations in March 2018. I just do not know why Toys employees would have gotten into BBBY, another failed retailer, after all that trauma. You knew that BBBY was not going to survive.

The former Toys (finance) employees currently at BBBY should know how to prepare the debtor-in-possession statements since Toys had done it between October 2017 (Chap 11) to March 2018 (Chap 7). They also know how to impair Right-of-use assets in Going-Out-Of-Business sale events.
Corporate (especially finance) was LOADED with ex TRU employees…I worked with many of them.
Well, from an ex BBB employee from 'back in the day' (from stores to corporate office)....many corporate staff left for 'greener' pastures to TRU....only to be faced with the same demise that BBB is dealing with now. TRU and a small ,small handful of retailers were/are headquartered in NJ...so the jump ship options were limited. Surprising the number of TRU folks that found temporary respite with BBB for a few years is even being brought up these days.
Toys r us went out YEARS ago the first time they officially liquidated. How could anyone possibly know bbb would do the same? Ridiculous comment, 2 completely different retailers
Who gives a rat's @$$ about Toys'R'Us?
TRU was literally run on credit from its suppliers for many years to leverage their costs with Target and Wallys. Mattel, etc. needed another market besides the big stores. TRU should probably have died in 2008 or so.
Many of the people we had were Sears refugees as well. One was a former Sears night manager at Fox Valley. But both sets of folks were good people and did not deserve this or ask for it. All I could tell them at the time was something we all knew- "I hope you didn't come here for history to repeat itself".
Their fellow employees were up front with them about it, but they needed the income.
Who doesn't?
They both got out before this as far as I know: one went out as an FEM in the 2020 culling of the herd. BBBY could not support 19 full timers at 53 even though it was a huge store.
I hope they found stability.
