Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Upper management should aware of corruption, misbehavior, mismanagement, discrimination, bullying at lower level

I worked at qcom for 10 years before joining Apple. Qcom is one of the horrible company to work. Although company pay good salary bonuses RSUs, many people are lazy, directors to principal level involved in corruption and mismanagement. Upper management should aware of this and focus on cleaning up these people. Qcom can survive and do well just 50% of the current work force.
If did not do many lawsuits will follow soon on bullying and discrimination.

If you break an arm or leg and you go to the doctor, he puts a caste on it.

The caste system is India’s way of promoting and propping up only some groups from certain socio-economic classes from certain backgrounds:

It’s effectively racism and classism.

But wait, Indians are a minority in the US and can’t be racist or discriminatory, right?!?

Can you explain more on the caste based discrimination? I'm sorry but I have never heard of it in QC in my 9 years over here.

Some of the worst bullying is among Indians and H1Bs from different castes. To Americans and others, this case system means nothing, and so it's ignored and misunderstood.

The environment in middle/upper management at Qualcomm has become toxic. Best to move on, I did and have no regrets. Shame what Irwins Company has turned into.

@1ffb+1mgB2ilQ its not just the status collectors. Its everywhere. Managers create a buddy system and would watch each other like mafia. They will bully you and bypass your tasks if that pleases them. Upper management knows this and covers up and covers up more and more. They are all in it together. You get harrassed bullied , for no fault of your own, just because you are not a kiss a-s person and they see you as a threat , exactly like mafia. Not sure how this company lasted this long eith this corrupt management system.

Probably we need to start "me too" movement. 🙃. Yes, status collectors must be shown door. They harass employees irrespective of which team. They take H1Bs just for this. I bet they can never do these to residents. Poor H1B holders get blamed for taking jobs and on the other hand harassed by status collectors.

Look up the bullish Abfool, Subdulah, Farukh, Sheikh and the rest of the south asian mafia did. That tubby belligerent wannabe CEO guy did. Verbal abuse, profanity, with tons of family/caste/country/religion hiring and promotions. Meanwhile bona fide engineers are passed over or forced out.

Are you sure they didn’t “mistreat” you bc of your spelling? Or maybe not understanding what the heck you were saying?

I agree with the OP. The upper management acts like Russian Mafia. I've seen people get bullied while the management looks at the ceiling and ignores what is going on in the room. Anybody is willing to join a class action for systematic bullying by bad managers? I have gathered evidence but we need more.

Corruption is a very familiar story. Upper management scoops dirt under the carpet and blames the victims. Really a badly run company.

Upper management doesn't care. If anyone contacts upper management about an issue, they just kick it to HR. For them it's just a numbers game. It not about "culture", fairness, etc. Just numbers. To anyone being bullied, retaliated against, or discriminated against: Gather evidence in some form, whether email, whatever. If it's just your word against a bad manager, there's no point. Or just do what OP did, go somewhere else. TBH, that's probably the best solution. Corruption s*cks.
