This weekend and the weekend of 5/4-5/7 we have unnecessary extended hours again. People are advertising shifts and asking for shift swaps for these days. We don’t need extended hours when we are not busy anyway.
Also, for Memorial Day weekend, our mall hours are 11-8 Friday and Saturday, 12-6 Sunday, and 12-6 for Monday, Memorial Day. Macy’s will have normal hours for those days. We will be open 10-9 Friday and Saturday, 11-7 Sunday, and the worst will be 10-9 on Memorial Day.
These unnecessary extended store hours result in callouts, bad customer service, and probably theft.

If they reduce your store hours, you will lose employees, including managers.
Our mall just reduced hours to 11-7 Monday - Thursday; 11-8 Friday/Saturday; 12-6 on Sunday. We are OPEN 2 hours extra each day....when will Macy's get with the program????? Costing them millions in pay/managers/lights x 600 stores. I can do a better job of scheduling. GEEEEEEZ
Some malls have stores in them that are better than Macy’s and those stores are open mall hours of 11-8 Monday-Saturday and 12-6 on Sunday. Macy’s should just have mall hours too.
Our extended wknd hrs are until 10pm… it’s utterly ridiculous when the mall closes at 8. It’s a waste of money when no one is shopping after 8:30pm and they’ve been whining about payroll which results into shaming the employees and cut hrs. Oh and not to mention for the next month our store has extended the wknd hrs for every single wknd because of the sales.
