Rich Products, who loves to tout they are all about family, just announced they are outsourcing ALL of Finance to save a penny.

More layoffs are scheduled to come until the first week of March. My friend Bridget in the Recruiting dept has even complained about how most of their recruiting team are contracted Recruiters and there's no sense of direction because the recruiting manager and director have no control over anything.
She's now working with India who is taking over some of her responsibilities.
Clearly either the new CEO wants to get a pat on the back for quick $$$ savings (which will in turn ruin the company and its reputation), or the Rich family is reducing costs to increase EBIDTA so they can quickly dump it.
Family company alright. While I am sure it makes sense on the bottom line if thats how Richs wants to do business .. but it is short sighted and will only drive away key customers
India isn’t not the solution, unless they are looking for non analytical order taker type workers, who will be on a revolving door of turnover. The culture at Rich’s is not what it used to be. Associates with relationships with vendors, customers, partners and each other and the value they add are meaningless now.
So sad.
Saving money by replacing "Family" with a cheaper solution...What? If a company is about "Innovation" How about innovating more products that will sell and make that wanted bottom line. Cutting "Family" isn't the answer.
It's really a sad day when a privately held "family" business who has been a pillar in the Buffalo community has now dropped it's "loyal family" and outsourced to other countries. Guess what's next.....may be not family held anymore. Just sad.
bump, as the next few days this is going to get pretty nuts.
Several departments in Buffalo were informed of the same decision yesterday. This includes IS, Finance, HR, CS&L and others. Most functions of these departments will be handled by external vendors that are largely based in Mexico, Latin America and India.
They want to move all jobs to India to save a couple bucks for “innovation” 😅
Good luck with that!
Moves like that do not help a company be successful. It may provide some savings upfront, but that will get eroded over time by all the issues and rework that will come up.
Also Information Systems, seems more and more jobs are being offshored to India.
