Business Update- Attendance Required - wonder what this meeting will be?

Last year we had 2 rounds of layoffs. I survived and had worked there less than a year. We got a mandatory meeting request 1 minute before the meeting. We were all muted. And the look on the VPs face was horrible. Then was talking in teams to coworkers that got axed who had been there for 7 years , 5 years they got called individually and read a script. Then they had to reapply, we’re mad because their jobs were posted online. They had to move to other departments. They still work there but wow it became clear when I was in training why I as a brand new employee to the company was met with hostility. I had no idea prior to being hired they had a layoff. So some didn’t understand being moved around, having to reapply, or their company got bought out by Optum and they had to work a year as a temp. These layoffs cause crazy behavior. If you survive … lay low. There is hostility and tons of work shoved on you.
