Worst company ever!!!! I was let go so they could hire out of the country (India) to fill so may positions. Hope they are happy with their mistake in doing this!!!! Mangement is horrible liars and never tell the truth or take accountability for their lies!!!! Worked my a-s off for years for them and did not get any recognition for it!
BD laying off people to hire outside/out of the country group to manage all levels of the company. Really cr-ppy way they let people go in a mass video conference. Completely unprofessional and harsh. I was let go and so many of my colleagues were also from BD Tempe and BD SLC.
Agree @8uul+1mdb7QU8 and 'not revealing more details to respect the people who were impacted' is a ridiculous statement from leadership. Not knowing only increases the anxiety of those who worry and wonder if will they be next. Transparency and the truth are always the best paths to employee engagement... waving your hand (as a leader) and saying 'Nothing to see here,' only increases distrust.
I was laid off last week from BD Biosciences in San Jose. Very sudden and now scrambling to find a new position.
BD sites across the world were hit. Some of this doesn't make sense at all but it is typical of BD to do things like this. As someone from Sumpter mentioned, "BD needs to clean house " Unfortunately, the same thing goes on everywhere. I am at BD Mebane NC and it is a fairly small site compared to others yet we need to clean house too. They bring management favorites up from Brazil making 100K a year and then turn around and lay off people. We have a bunch of "dead weight" yet they always seem to miss the chopping block. Another thing BD needs to do is eliminate the flex schedule incorporated during the pandemic. If people can work from home with very little production results then do you really need them?
BD Sumter needs a house cleaning. Too many folks there who draw a big salary who cut out of work early to go to Mac’s place or play in golf league.
Any departments or BUs hit harder than others at BD Sumter?
Is 5000 people below the threshold for the WARN act??
1% is like 5000+ people! That’s pretty significant
It is confirmed: 1% of all BDX is being let go in this round (future rounds may come) Hard to tell the specifics of which business units are affected more. Best luck to all of us
BD Sumter started getting hit today with more expected. Main problem management across the board.
The majority of layoffs in San Jose have been in Life Sciences Division manufacturing and part of a planned move to San Diego and Cayey, PR, due to be completed within 6-9 months.
Salt Lake City was hit today. It appears R&D is being hit due to sales slumps and overhiring. At least that is what we are being told.
Being told all BUs are getting hit and those BUs with worse sales are being hit harder ( no duh ). BUs with good sales is getting hit as well to avoid struggling BUs getting hit as hard.
Not sure how that makes sense but again it's the news they are selling.
Post from TheLayoff.com
How many are you aware of? They just announced the layoffs but did not say how many
Layoffs in BD biosciences San Diego.
Arizona affected (BD MedBank)
Anybody know how many were cut from MMS altogether?
Confirmed there are some layoffs in San Jose, below the number where they would have to submit a WARN. I have been told earlier that HR were approving severance packages. Wouldn't be surprised if they were more in BD biosciences because they are going to miss some revenue targets.
Its very interesting that they are having layoffs because surgeries, patient visits, and healthcare staffing is returning to pre pandemic levels so BD should be able to strategize to adjust for that. These short term id--tic actions are ruining the their brand.
They moved close to 200 positions in San Antonio to Genpact. They call it "badging flipping" but you decide...
MMS in Kuala Lumpur, San Diego, and San Antonio were affected
BD must be going through some layoffs right now and have more to go. I hear they are pausing hiring again. Since J&J and Medtronic laid off people, BD has the cover it needs to do the same.
Sounds like this is affecting San Antonio as well. I haven't seen and WARN Act notice in CA or TX. Not sure if the impacted associates have any recourse. Its definitely worth exploring
Yep, many people in MMS dont have jobs tonight.
