Compensation in this company is a joke. Working so incredibly hard all year and getting less than a paltry 2% increase is so disheartening. My Store Manager seemed totally unbothered by this. It’s unbelievable. Meanwhile they are still giving hourly colleagues more bumps. What about Salaried Executives who aren’t overtime eligible and work 50+ hours a week to help get the job done? When is anyone going to see our value?

2% is not unheard of as a standard. And 'what about' salaried executives who work 50+ hours a week? Pretty common in retail. Or don't stay at work an extra 10 hrs a week. Your choice.
Time to start a class action lawsuit for changing schedules on such short notice. Or you can catch all those land sharks causing the potholes and sell them for extra cash.
So true,& now "store manager" is the only one (plus 2 of her minions) that can make the weekly schedule for all, of us,She does not know us ,availability or set hrs.today is Saturday & our schedule is not up , nobody except 4 merchandises know if they work tmrw...that's how they protect themselves & will blame all the other lower managers of incompetence, setting all for failure, doesn't make sense
The management in our store don’t even deserve a 2% increase. They sit in their offices and if they receive a call they try to pass it onto somebody else to deal with the problem . Theatro is a joke you call for leadership and they all run and don’t reply. You stand there with a customer staring at you and you receive no assistance from the so called “leadership”.
FFF money goes to the store execs to buy snacks, drinks, catering, birthday cakes, and lunch for themselves. You’re going to miss it if you leave!
Sales are down and I doubt any store is making plan. Get ready for a huge workforce reduction and role combinations for the same pay. Thank you workforce strategy team for keeping Macy’s alive!
Ridiculous. Work our as--s off all year, get a sh---y bonus and now a 2% raise. Why should I work 50 plus hours a week for nothing.
Blame the consulting company McKinsey. Oh wait, they just announced 2,000 layoffs.
In my opinion, if you can find a job that pays more and has better hours, who cares about the PTO? PTO is actually a negotiable benefit. A lot of people don’t know this. But a 2% raise in this economy is unacceptable. Meanwhile, C-Suite execs are raking in the $$$$ and making poor decisions that impact everyone else. It’s wrong, period.
Remember no one got a raise in 2020?
If you go somewhere else, which job will give you 6 weeks of paid vacation?
MBA/SMM/OOM/APM are on the same payscale
I’m wondering….They want to sort of clean house so they can pay salaried execs less? Apparently CXMs and SMMs are in the same pay range now. They pay external hires a lot more. This makes no sense and doesn’t help with retention or morale. Time to look for a new job. The stress is not worth it anymore. I thought I had a career with Macy’s so I stuck it out. My loyalty only goes so far.
You will show your value when you do less and someone else needs hired. Right now they are getting free work so they are taking it.
How much are you making a year?
They want you to leave through attrition so they can promote a captain to take your place.
2% increase is an insult.
2% increase to battle 10% inflationary prices this year!
