I was laid off six months ago, and today I feel a strong sense of relief being away from Citrix. Although the experience may have been unsettling at first, I realize now it has opened up new opportunities for me to find a much more suitable position that better aligns with my skills, experience, and career goals. Not to mention a place with a non-toxic work culture and competent managers. In the end, Citrix did me a favor by laying me off.

I was laid off in November and am still not fully employed. I couldn’t be happier. I got the equivalent of a year’s base salary in severance (6 months + all unvested RSUs). Now I’m doing freelance work and making the equivalent of my annual salary at Citrix for 20 hours/week. The job market is definitely challenging, but lots of different, interesting opportunities seem to be opening up with AI. Work life is just never going to look like it used to and it’s really exciting. It’s much less stable, but I’m having so much fun right now and I’m so much healthier too. I will never go back to an office or drain my soul only to make rich men richer. Citrix is a distant memory now.
No monetary increase here but a lot more learning and career enhancing opportunities and I have my mental health and dignity back. Good luck to others on the exit strategy
I recall that many Citrix employees previously reported receiving a 15-25% increase in compensation after they left to join a company with a future. But money wasn't their only motivation. Better technology and credible leadership also matter.
Working at CSG is depressing and drains any remaining dignity that I have left. I just wish that I had kept my technical skills more current so I could leave and start over. It seems like 'regrets' are common among all that remain at CSG.
Very glad to hear you both are doing well post-layoff.
Agreed. And I got a 15% pay increase as well as a position with more responsibility. Still, the way we were treated at Citrix in the time that TK took over until being let go was unbelievably cr#ppy. He is toxic, no other way around it.
