Gartner's latest 2022 analysis shows Snowflake and Mongo passing Teradata. Teradata even dropped out of the top ten. The chart shows the accelerated decline started in 2015. I doubt you will see any social media posts from Teradata on this but SM and NC may show it as proof that their "strategy is working" to try to spin the bad news and collect their inflated paychecks another year. No new customer is going to chose a database this far down on the list.

I too feel sorry for the employees. If they could get a job at Google, AWS, Microsoft, Snowflake, or Databricks they would go from legacy laggard to innovative leader immediately. But many are trapped and having only Teradata on your resume hurts. So now they are like people in abusive relationships that just keep taking the cr-p because they see no other option.
I hate that present employees are going to suffer, but they way TD has treated people for years has karma coming around and biting them hard. I only hope the ELT suffers hard and soon.
Databricks, Redis, and Datastax will pass Teradata in 2023
It’s hard to spin the decline as a positive but I’m sure our marketing team will try. Such a rapid decline is concerning for customers and employees.
The ELT members driving the talent away did not know what they were doing. Zero appreciation for the experienced Teradata engineers they treated so badly. They could not handle diverse thought and people willing to challenge them. Now they are starting to realize the mess they are in. Stuck with a bunch or yes people who just go along to collect a paycheck.
They know what they are doing right? Because they surely didn't need the talent they let go over the years
Hey but cloud ARR is growing!!!
Well, I was laid off in 2015, so that could have done it.
Wow, what genius changes were implemented back in 2015? Well the end is getting closer.
Why can't the ELT be real with us? Clearly explain the challenge without spinning is. And give us a path to improving? They treat us like id--ts and use all the DEI stuff as a way to avoid the moose on the table. If you look at this chart you will see the decline. This picture cancels all the BS we get fed on the company meetings. Updating my resume now......
