Thread regarding DST Systems layoffs

The place was a total joke

I worked at this company for 2 years. It was the weirdest place ever. Every decision make was the wrong one. Huge nightly processing hickups due to unqualified staff. Worked at Hallmark, H&R, and Sprint. All much better run. Even Sprint was at least 80% better than DST. I just could not believe the self-destructive nature of DST's old fashioned management style. The place was a total joke.

I couldn't agree more with you, @3gqp+1m7ysFAk.

It sure was a bad place to work. It did not matter how much you contributed to the company's success, you were always overlooked when it came to raises and promotions. The only person I saw with a real promotion was sleeping with the CEO, had to leave, and came back as a director with a big pay increase! I guess talent matters when you know how to apply it to the correct people.

The was a VP who was stupid and needed my help all the time. He was ignorant, uninformed and blind as a bat. I should not have lifted a finger to help him. He did nothing to help me

I never worked harder for a company while keeping projects on-time and trouble free. I was never appreciated and finally got the ax. I cannot believe that I wasted a good portion of my life at this organization. What a waste it time at a very sorry company!

Well having a psychology degree, I sat back and watched management. Then I predicted who in my department would get promotions over the next few years, based on their looks! I was right! The SIMP male managers promoted based on women's attractiveness - not performance. This is not putting shareholders interests first. It is putting your own individual feelings and desires first. That is in conflict with the corporate goals of efficiency and EBITDA. All so you can win favor with someone who works under you? A true manager does not try to please people first. He seeks the best way to conduct business and lets the chips fall where they should. Such SIMPS! Nobody respected them!
