Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

It is not going to get any better!

Very frustrating day! Big Store, very busy Saturday. We had lines of customers in every apparel area due to great pricing. Everything sounds great, but wait, due to budget constraints we were staffed for a Thursday, not a Saturday. And to add insult to injury, Big Store had 9 (nine call offs) for closing shifts. Who will place the 21 recovery rods of dresses. Will these dresses ever see the selling floor, should we place inventory tags on the rods now, and just let the racks build.; 21 today, 42 tomorrow, 63 on Monday-- Come on senior management, your smarter than this. Please react!

Yeah Friday was very frustrating for me. I was alone from 7-9, everyone kept coming to my line. Backstage told me they were closing their registers at 8:45 and they were gonna send their customers to me. I told her no that I also had close registers and it was a mess but the message dropped. My last customer left at 9:15.

Don’t worry, the news articles says 96% of the current employed are looking for new jobs

It's just awful at my store. Big store, no help and fitting room go backs are out of control. Can't keep up with anything. LInes at fitting rooms and registers. Floors are a disaster.

Macy’s uses an artificial intelligence robot to produce the schedules. If more people come in before 6pm, then majority of the shifts will be before 6pm. Obviously there’s only going to be 1 colleague per floor from 6-9pm

Same here not enough associates. I don't know why they can't schedule more mid shifts on Saturday. 90 percent of the people in RTW left before 6. This is insane.
