I layoff all I want. They ain't firing anyone that just does their jobs and doesn't wreck and tear up stuff
Why do you think the managers love the attendance policy? Have you conducted a poll or interviewed a selection in order to come to this conclusion? I was a union employee and worked as a manager my last 10 years and I can tell you most managers I know hated the companies harsh attendance policies. There were many times I was called down by the directors and superintendent because I did not issue discipline for attendance. Most of these cases were due to me knowing my employees and their personal or family circumstances. There were employees that constantly laid off without reason, but my workforce was really good and I had few issues. There are good and bad managers just like there are good and bad union employees. Not all managers are hung ho to discipline and fire their workers. It’s much easier to do your job as a manager when you respect and get along with your workforce. It makes everyone’s job better, more productive, and actually enjoyable.
I’ve posted this before, but why were the unions not allowed a say so in this new policy?
