Only status collectors and managers are valuable at Qualcomm. If you are solving the problems and you think you are smart, you are a loser. If you solve the problem too early, status collectors does not have anything to report to their VPs. If you are too smart and do work of 3 people. Your manager lose a chance of 2 additional head counts. Status collectors needs big issues, and mangers need headcounts to get advance in organization.

Having worked with a lot of Indians, “working hard and smart” in any something I think they are even capable of doing.
That is the Indian way. The only way it will change is to lay off Indians, but Q might get sued for discrimination.

This is very true, I was hated in my team for solving issues and moving the project forward. The lead liked people who create problems and then bring it up in meetings to solve them.
I was told multiple times to not finish work so fast. Keep toward the end even customer is waiting.
