It could have been worse. The severance is decent enough and I can take a month off before I start looking for something new. The environment and atmosphere have changed a lot in the past 12 months and I feel like my leaving the company was inevitable. This just made my decision for me. Good luck to the rest of you. I hope things improve. I've spent many good years at Coupa and this doesn't change that. No hard feelings from me.

So much salt
Mixed bag. Some of those layed off having savings that can last them beyond 3 months if they cant find another job in this tight tech job market. So dont think that everyone feels so liberated, even if circumstances at Coupa have not been ideal. There is at least one employee I know of who was on a work visa - laid off and now needs to find a new job in 60 days or has to leave the country. That employee is not feeling liberated. For others who remain at Coupa, they may be considering themselves fortunate because they know it will be a tough market for them to find a new job soon. So have some respect for those that remain as well as for those laid off. Everyone has different personal circumstances that are impacted by layoffs and being retained.
You are a kind person. I feel the same way, good company until the downhill started, decent people but just bad circumstances. Leadership needs to be stronger and set a strategic vision and not just operate status quo. The layoffs were inevitable and hopefully we all come out stronger. I think people left behind are in a bigger fear and sh-t ton of work. We are much better off by getting laid off in round 1.
